Curtis Lahey, JD, MBA
As an Associate Director at Westcourt Capital Corporation, Curtis works closely with the Directors of Public and Private Markets Research and is instrumental in the legal and operational due diligence of Westcourt’s recommended public market and private investment products and strategies. Curtis also works closely with Westcourt’s Chief Risk Officer in the legal and regulatory review of all Westcourt’s business operations and investment structures.
Prior to joining Westcourt, Curtis practiced corporate law at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto, focusing on investment funds and asset management, securities law compliance matters, mergers and acquisitions (both private and public), and private equity transactions. While at the firm, Curtis completed a secondment with the capital markets legal group at a major Canadian bank where he worked on a variety of securities law and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott as an Associate, Curtis was both a summer and articling student at the firm.
Curtis earned his law degree (J.D.) from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law, and his MBA from the Queen’s Smith School of Business. While at Queen’s, Curtis earned a certificate in International Business Law as part of the Queen’s International Law Program in England, and studied international trade and investment at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. Prior to law school, Curtis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he played NCAA Varsity Golf on an athletic scholarship. Curtis is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
